Skull Base Tumor Center Doctors and Staff

At the Johns Hopkins Skull Base Tumor Center, patients will find the most comprehensive, individualized treatment and therapy team. The team of doctors and other health care professionals work together to provide the most effective and safest treatment possible for patients with skull base tumors or conditions.

 

Other members of the brain tumor care team:

Other doctors and health care professionals with special expertise in skull base tumors and skull base conditions may also be part of the brain tumor care team. These could include:

  • Critical care doctors and nurses
  • Physical and occupational therapists
  • Speech language pathologists

The specific doctors and health care professionals involved will depend on the patient’s tumor, symptoms, and treatment.

Social workers will also help coordinate care after the patient leaves the hospital.

Chordoma: Drug screening starts to find new treatment for rare bone cancer
The Chordoma Foundation has awarded a $200,000 grant to Dr. Gary Gallia, a skull-base neurosurgeon and cancer biologist at Johns Hopkins. Gallia’s focus is on developing new therapies for brain and skull-based tumors. His lab has a long record of studying mouse models of brain tumors and he has developed a xenograft mouse model to study chordoma.
