The Johns Hopkins University

Kristy Yuan

Kristy is currently a fourth year medical student at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology with a minor in Spanish language from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a recipient of the Howard Hughes Research Training Fellowship.

The overall aim of her project is to assess the anti-tumor activity of IL-12 secreting human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells against glioblastoma multiforme. This project is important in justifying immunotherapy against GBM treatment and in studying adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells as vectors for cancer therapy.
