
We are studying the cytoarchitecture, organization, ultrastructure, and cell to cell interactions of the human fetal subventricular zone (SVZ) by identifying target(s), mechanism(s), and extent of human neuroblast migration.
Through a systematic ultrastructural analysis of the fetal SVZ, we aim to show the similarities and differences between the adult and fetal human SVZ.
Our goal is to understand the cellular organization in the normal human SVZ and decipher what goes wrong in the human diseased brain, and apply this knowledge to create new and improved brain tumor therapies.
