John J. Lewin III, PharmD, BCPS is the Division Director of the Carnegie 6 Critical Care/Surgery Pharmacy and the Director of the Pharmacotherapy Residency Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Pharmacy. Dr. Lewin is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, and the President of the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists (2009).  He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Temple University School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia and completed his post-doctoral residency training in Pharmacy practice and Critical Care at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Lewin served as the Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit the The Johns Hopkins Hospital for 5 years prior to assuming his current position. 

His research interests include sedation in the Neuro-ICU, central nervous systems infections in the critically ill,  and optimization of drug therapy for a variety of Neuro-ICU conditions.
