Dr. Satnam S. Nijjar received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2003. He then completed a residency in Neurology at the University of Manitoba followed by a fellowship in Headache and Chronic Pain Management at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto.

Dr. Nijjar is now an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His specific area of interest in headache includes patients with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) disorders, specifically those with idiopathic intracranial hypertension and CSF leaks.  He is also interested in patients with post-concussion symptoms and craniofacial pain disorders. Dr. Nijjar has received numerous research awards from the American Headache Society (AHS), American Society of Neuroimaging, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Canadian Headache Society, and the University of Manitoba. He has lectured on headaches to medical students,residents and faculty and has also been recognized by the Canadian Pain Society for his efforts in multi-disciplinary education. 

Referrals to Dr. Nijjar can be sent to the Johns Hopkins Headache Center at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
