Dr. Vsevolod (Seva) Y. Polotsky earned his medical degree and Ph.D. from the Saint Petersburg Pavlov Medical University in Russia. He received his post-doctoral research training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Yale University. Dr. Polotsky then completed his medical internship and residency training at Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut followed by a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Polotsky is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Polotsky's clinical interests include sleep-disordered breathing, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, and overlap syndrome (a combination of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and obstructive sleep apnea). Dr. Polotsky's research interests are metabolic complications of sleep disordered breathing and intermittent hypoxia, including diabetes mellitus type 2, dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, and fatty liver disease.

Dr. Polotsky currently sees patients at the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center on Fridays.
