Mr. Meyer received his training in electrical engineering from Valparaiso University and Applied Physics from Johns Hopkins University. After graduation, he joined the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory where he specialized in applications of technology to problems in the neurosciences.
Now a Emeritus Professor of Neurosurgery and of Biomedical Engineering, Mr. Meyer’s research focuses on the neurobiology of pain and itch sensation. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed scientific publications and has had continuous NIH support since 1979.
Mr. Meyer is the Chairman of the Research Committee for the Blaustein Pain Treatment Center.
