Dr. Mark Wu received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After completing his internship at Baylor, he went to UCLA for residency training in Neurology. He then completed a Sleep Medicine fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Currently, an Assistant Professor in Neurology, Dr. Wu specializes in sleep disorders and has a particular interest in narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnolence, and sleep paralysis.
Dr. Wu’s research focuses on the genetic mechanisms underlying regulation of sleep and neuronal excitability, using simple model organisms. In terms of clinical research, he is investigating the genetic basis of Familial Sleep Paralysis.
Dr. Wu currently sees patients at the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center in Baltimore on Wednesdays.
