Maureen A. Mealy, RN, BSN, MSCN

Maureen Mealy

Maureen Mealy is a certified Clinical Neuroscience Registered Nurse and a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse. She has longstanding experience in neurosciences as she began her nursing career in the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and later joined the Johns Hopkins Multiple Sclerosis and Transverse Myelitis Centers in January of 2007.

Ms. Mealy, along Dr Benjamin Greenberg, former co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Transverse Myelitis Center, established the Transverse Myelitis and Neuromyelitis Optica Program at the University of Texas Southwestern University.

More recently, Ms. Mealy rejoined Johns Hopkins and teamed up with Drs Carlos Pardo and Michael Levy, where she currently acts as the Program Manager, Clinical Research Coordinator, and Senior Nurse of the Transverse Myelitis Center and Neuromyelitis Optica Clinic. Additionally, she serves as the Administrative Coordinator for a multi-center Neuromyelitis Optica Consortium between Johns Hopkins University, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and Mayo Clinic.

Ms. Mealy’s clinical and research interests lie in the impact of vitamin D on neuroimmunologic diseases and creating algorithms for management of acute spinal cord inflammation.
