Karl Womer, M.D.

Dr. Womer was awarded his MD degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. His Internal Medicine training was completed at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. His clinical and research training was in the Division of Nephrology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital – Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.  Dr. Womer is currently Clinical Director of Transplant Nephrology and manages medical kidney transplant recipients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including medical evaluation of potential live kidney donors.  Research interests include dendritic cell immunobiology in the transplant setting, including experimental animal models of transplantation on a basic level and clinical translational work in patients with BK virus nephropathy.
