Metastic Tumors

These tumors come into the brain from another cancerous location in the body. The most common metastic brain tumors are caused by cancer of the lung, breast, renal cell (kidney), colon or melanoma (skin cancer). These tumors can be single or multiple.

Patients with metastic brain tumors may present with headache, nausea, vomiting or seizures. Symptoms depend on the location, site of origin, number, rate of growth and amount of brain swelling or edema.
