Surgeon evaluates scans to determine the best treatment option
Our dedicated, multidisciplinary team determines the
best treatment plan for each patient's unique diagnosis

The treatment of skull base tumors requires a team of dedicated, highly specialized and experienced doctors, nurses and therapists of different disciplines working together in seamless interaction. The Johns Hopkins Minimally-Invasive Brain and Skull Base Surgery Center is where a very large number of these relatively rare tumors are treated.

Each patient’s unique diagnosis is discussed in a multidisciplinary team meeting. Neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists, neurologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, nurses and therapists all participate in determining the best treatment plan.

Based on the location of the tumor and the type of tumor, your neurosurgeon will make a decision about whether to use a minimally-invasive approach or a traditional approach to removing the tumor.
