Minimally-Invasive Brain and Skull Base Surgery Center

We treat a high volume of relatively rare skull tumors in a seamless, multidisciplinary environment.

The treatment of skull base tumors requires a team of dedicated, highly specialized and experienced doctors, nurses and therapists of different disciplines working together seamlessly. The Johns Hopkins Minimally-Invasive Brain and Skull Base Surgery Center is where a very large number of these relatively rare tumors are treated.

Skull base tumors are a group of tumors that have a tendency to grow along various regions of the bottom part of the skull. Treating skull base tumors is particularly challenging because this area of the body contains so many blood vessels, nerves and other important structures.

Each patient’s unique circumstance is discussed in a multidisciplinary team meeting to determine the best treatment plan. Our team is composed of:

All patients will have a surgical consultation with one of the members of our highly experienced team

Skull base surgeries are complicated, requiring the multidisciplinary excellence of a well-rounded team including neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists, neurologists, and post-surgical therapists.
