Derek Cox (Zeiss servicing): The problem with varying laser power (so-called "drifting pinhole") is due to re-using a prior acquisition template. Apparently, the template also remembers the prior position of the pinhole during the prior acquisition, hence clobbering any newer pinhole alignments. The problem is most dramatic the older the prior acquisition being reused.
Scot Kuo: As part of routine, monthly maintenance, Facility staff (typically Mike Delannoy) re-aligns the pinholes of both Zeiss 510 Metas. |
