ABOUT OUR Graduate Program Staff

Carol Pfeffer came to the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine in November 2005, after working 5 years for the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine. She has had a variety of work experience leading to her present position, as Administrative Program Coordinator. She has been a library aid, elementary art teacher, G.E.D. instructor, apprentice land surveyor, physical therapy secretary, cashier, salad girl, and mail clerk, among others. In retrospect, she can see how all those jobs were woven together into the tapestry of her life-thus enhancing her skills for the position she now currently holds.

As an Administrative Program Coordinator, she manages HR and financial transactions. She handles payroll and billing for the department. An avid endorser, she always talks favorably about the department, the graduate program, and the graphic design group whenever she meets new acquaintances.

Originally trained to be a teacher, she graduated with a B.A. in Art Education from Frostburg State University. The areas of concentration within the degree are drawing and painting, which she still does. Carol is energized when she is brainstorming with others to find solutions to problems and situations. Her hobbies are singing, being with people, genealogy and travel. She is proud to be a part of the department!
