Cancer Functional Imaging Core

The Cancer Functional Imaging Core integrates state-of-the art, noninvasive imaging capabilities to advance the translational research mission of Kimmel Cancer Center. The Core has significantly expanded in recent years and now includes an:

  • Olympus multi-photon microscope for in vivo imaging
  • LI-COR Pearl imager
  • SuperArgus PET/CT scanner
  • Vector SPECT/PET scanner

These are in addition to the existing:

  • 9.4T Bruker horizontal bore MR scanner
  • Kodak and Xenogen optical imaging systems
  • Gamma-Medica CT/SPECT
  • Argus PET imaging system
  • VisualSonics ultrasound imaging system.  

The Core facilities offer advanced small animal imaging capabilities and techniques that provide imaging data in small animals used to develop translational applications in humans.
