Pain Management

Yes, cancer pain can be treated. The most common way to treat cancer pain is with pain medicines. You may have heard them called opioids or narcotics. Many of these medicines can be taken by mouth as a pill or lozenge. Other treatments may be added to your pain management plan as needed. Side effects of pain medicines, such as drowsiness, nausea, or constipation are common and can be effectively treated.
