Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy was used as a treatment modality more frequently before chemotherapy became common. Radiation therapy works very well for disease that is confined to a localized region. Ovarian cancer tends not to be localized, and it is difficult to radiate the entire body without severe toxicity problems. For select patients with localized disease, radiation services are available.
