
Maurice calls himself a living testament to the importance of prostate cancer screening. “It saved my life,” he says. At 48, he received a free prostate cancer exam and PSA prostate cancer screening test at the Shepherd’s Clinic, a community partner of the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. He learned he had prostate cancer. Johns Hopkins surgeons removed the cancer and continue to keep a watchful eye on him. He feels certain his cancer would have gone undetected if it had not been for the free screening program.
