Swim Across America 2014 Event Recap:
In 2014, two new clinical trials were launched. One uses a combination of a conventional chemotherapy drug at very low doses to extend the lives of patients with pancreatic cancer and the second involves a new immune target that provides new options for patients whose cancers have not responded to existing treatments.
Because of the generosity and dedication of hundreds of swimmers and volunteers, our team of researchers and clinicians are forging ahead against the toughest, most advanced cancers.
Swim Across America 2013 Event Recap:
The Baltimore swim took place Sunday, September 22 with more than $425,000 raised and counting. As in the past three years, two events happened simultaneously – a pool swim at Meadowbrook Aquatic and Fitness Center and a 1-mile and 3-mile open water swim on the Magothy River in Pasadena.
The annual swim, which is one of Baltimore’s biggest health-related, fundraising events, supports colon and pancreas cancer research, clinical trials, a survivorship clinic and retreat for patients and their caregivers. The Swim Across America laboratory at the Kimmel Cancer Center is directed by Luis Diaz, M.D.
