This wide-ranging agreement between Johns Hopkins Medicine and Walgreens is designed to promote collaboration on population-based research and jointly review and develop protocols to improve outcomes of patients with chronic diseases. JHM and Walgreens will together explore the development of new models for improving care for individuals. Healthways - Innergy

Johns Hopkins Medicine and Healthways, a global health and well-being improvement company, have developed Innergy™, a commercially available version of the call center-directed weight-loss program pioneered and studied by Lawrence J. Appel, M.D., a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Under the agreement between Hopkins and Healthways, Hopkins will advise Healthways on the design and implementation of Innergy, continuously evaluate the program, and oversee future enhancements.
