Infectious Diseases

The Center for Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins Bayview provides a full range of diagnostic, consultation, evaluation, treatment and prevention services for a wide variety of infectious disease-related problems. All physicians are full-time faculty at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

We are internationally recognized for our medical education and training activities. We offer clerkships to medical students, as well as visiting residents and fellows, in infectious diseases and wound care. We also provide an annual CME course: "Infectious Diseases Update for the Primary Care Practitioner." Home of the CDC-funded STD/HIV Prevention Training Center, we provide comprehensive training for clinicians who provide care for HIV, other sexually transmitted infections (STI) and reproductive tract infections (RTI).

In addition, we have established a clinical trials research program to investigate new drug treatments for a wide range of infectious diseases.
