Information for Patients

We want your experience at Johns Hopkins Bayview to be a positive one. That’s why we’ve provided these resources to help you know what to expect during your visits, gain the assistance you need and learn more about your condition and treatment.

Billing Information

Johns Hopkins Bayview’s Division of Cardiology accepts a variety of health insurance plans. Prior to your visit, it’s important to check with your primary care physician or insurance company to see if your testing is covered or if you need to obtain a referral for a specialist visit or diagnostic procedure.

If you are a self-pay patient without insurance, please be aware that some diagnostic procedures require a deposit. For details, call financial counseling at 410-550-3505.

Payment of co-pay and deductible are required at the time of your appointment check-in.

If you cannot find the information you need, call the cardiac scheduling department at Johns Hopkins Bayview at 443-997-0274.

Prescription Refills

If you need refills for your prescriptions, please let your doctor know before you arrive for your appointment so your medication will be ready for you when you arrive. If you run out of your medication before your appointment, call your physician’s office or call 410-550-4642.

Social Work

Members of the department of social work are valuable resources who can help you with many problems that might impact your health and care.

The Division of Cardiology offers social work services to outpatients and inpatients. There is no charge for this confidential assistance. Your doctor or nurse may make a referral for you.

Please call if you need help with:

  • home care services after a hospital stay;
  • transportation to and from the hospital for appointments;
  • financial aid and insurance coverage issues;
  • family problems;
  • caregiver stress;
  • safety issues in the home; or
  • referrals to community based agencies.
