Professional Development Committee

Our main aim is to help the Hopkins postdoc fellows achieve their career goals. We organize conferences and seminars so that postdocs can be informed of diverse scientific fields including academia, industry, government, patent law, scientific writing etc. We assist postdocs to equip themselves with skills sets for job-hunting and be aware of the recruitment process in a biotech enterprise. We also encourage them to increase their contacts by organizing networking events.

We meet on average once every month.

We work very closely with the professional development office (PDO) on organizing career related seminars, conferences, networking events. We are co-sponsoring a Postdoc Career Development Conference on Jan 21, 2009. In future we plan to also collaborate with the Hopkins biotech network to develop a series of workshops which focusing on helping postdocs develop soft skills.

Of course, we are open to any suggestions related to career development.
