Match Day

Match Day 2010

"Match Day" is one of the most important days in the lives of medical students. It is the day they learn where they'll spend the next three to seven years as they pursue the next phase of their training after graduation from medical school. This year, Match Day will be Thursday, March 18. Visit us again after that to see where the SoM Class of 2010 will be going for their residencies!

It is a process that begins in the fall when 4th year medical students start applying to residency programs through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). A computer algorithm is used to match the preferences of applicants with the preferences of residency programs in order to fill the available training positions at U.S. teaching hospitals.

An annual Match Day Brunch is hosted by The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Development and Alumni Relations Office to celebrate with the 4th year students and their families and friends.
