Annual Dues Think back to your white coat ceremony or a social event thrown by the student or house staff association and you’ll know exactly how much The Johns Hopkins Medical & Surgical Association added to your Hopkins experience. Then keep in mind that the JHM&SA counts on members like you to fund and enhance our many programs and initiatives. Your tax-deductible membership dues ($60 is suggested, but other amounts are welcomed) can make all the difference in how a medical student, graduate researcher, fellow or resident remembers his or her time in East Baltimore. For example:
“This association is the only one at Hopkins that reflects the interest of everyone who’s had a relationship with the School of Medicine,” says H. Franklin Herlong, M.D., associate professor of medicine and President of the JHM&SA. “Our dues money goes toward keeping the extended Hopkins family abreast of new developments and innovations, plus connecting current students and alumni through lectures and other educational events. These are valuable contributions that extend far beyond this campus.” A subscription to the award-winning Hopkins Medicine magazine is alone worth at least $60, says Herlong. Hopkins Medicine depends on JHM&SA dues to help pay a portion of their annual operating budget. Additional Charitable Contributions In addition to annual membership dues, the Association welcomes charitable contributions in any amount, all of which are tax-deductible. If you have questions about how to make a contribution, please contact Cheryll Glab at 410-516-3797 or cglab@jhmi.edu. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
