Compensation

The Department of Human Resources is committed to developing and administering a compensation program that helps attract, motivate and retain a highly qualified and competent workforce. Our Compensation policies and practices are designed to support organizational goals and to be equitable, competitive and cost-effective.

The Compensation Specialists and Staff are responsible for finalizing and cataloging job descriptions, supporting the performance management system, maintaining wage and salary guidelines, conducting salary market research and recommending fiscally sound and legally appropriate compensation practices to organizational leadership. The Staff provides consultation and education to management to ensure the consistent understanding and application of compensation-related policies.

Our Compensation Specialists and Staff are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Phipps 454 and by appointment. Please call 410-955-6781 with your questions or request for information.
