H-1B Applicant Information

Helpful Information

The information in this section applies to ALL individuals whose employment requires H-1B sponsorship. The necessary steps and required documentation are the same for all applicants who require sponsorship for H-1B status.

Please carefully review the H-1B General Information handout. This provides information that is useful to both the hiring Department and the non-immigrant being sponsored for H-1B status. After you have reviewed the H-1B General Information handout, you are encouraged to review the H-1B Timeline. Sponsorship for H-1B status is a lengthy process that involves multiple government agencies. Planning and organization are essential to a successful H-1B application.

The sponsoring Department cannot initiate the H-1B process until you have completed and returned the following forms from Applicant Section I and Applicant Section II. The completed forms must be returned to the sponsoring Department. The OIS will not accept these forms from the H-1B Applicant.

  • H-1B Beneficiary Permanent Resident Statement
