Helpful Information

All incoming Residents and Clinical Fellows from Foreign Medical Schools will be sponsored for J1 ECFMG status. It is JHMI policy for all Foreign Medical Graduates to be sponsored by ECFMG. All US Medical Graduates will be eligible for clinical H-1B sponsorship by JHMI.*

    Individuals who are not U.S. citizens must be cleared by the Office of International Student, Faculty & Staff Services PRIOR to registering with the School of Medicine for an approved rotation. This includes Legal Permanent Residents – only individuals who are U.S. citizens are exempt from the Pre-Arrival clearance procedures.

    Moonlighting

    JHMI and ECFMG have a very strict policy against Moonlighting. J1 ECFMG and H1B1 visa holders are inelligible to Moonlight. There are no exceptions.
