She graduated with a Master of Science degree in August 2001 and her thesis was “Present and Future Trends for the Treatment of Type 1 Diabetes: A Review”.
Tamara was interested in finding a job that offered a diverse medical opportunity and was surprised to find what she was looking for in a specialty such as Interventional Radiology. She started working at Johns Hopkins in the Interventional Radiology Department in October 2001 and was involved in all aspects of the department, including minor procedures, vascular patient pre and post clinical care, women’s health, vascular anomalies and oncology patients. Her special compassion and dedication to oncology patients naturally led her to work most specifically with them.
Currently, she is primarily responsible for ensuring a continuity of care for patients treated in Interventional Radiology and coordinating efforts with other modalities such as Hepatology, and Oncology.
