An Informed Decision
You’ve just been diagnosed. Perhaps you’d like an independent expert to confirm the diagnosis before you begin treatment. Maybe you’re interested in exploring the treatment options available outside your country.
The Johns Hopkins Medical Second Opinion Program allows you to consult a Johns Hopkins Medicine specialist—without getting on a plane—to confirm your diagnosis, review your current treatment plan and explore possible treatments in your home country or at Johns Hopkins.
With a remote medical second opinion, you can plan the best course of treatment with the confidence that your decision was well informed. In addition, you’ll gain a valuable resource for staying up to date on the latest research and therapeutic advances for your condition.
How We Can Help
When you request a Johns Hopkins medical second opinion, one of our medical specialists will review your case and communicate his or her thoughts and recommendations in one of three ways:
Written
The physician gives you his or her input, along with the latest treatment options available at Johns Hopkins, in a written document.
Telephone (Physician-to-Physician)
Your local treating physician and our specialist can discuss your case and treatment options during a telephone consultation.
Videoconference (Physician-to-Physician)
Your local treating physician and our specialist can discuss your case and treatment options using our videoconferencing system.
