Traveling for Care?
Whether you're crossing the country or the globe, we make it easy to access world-class care at Johns Hopkins.
The Organization recognizes the ethical concerns that arise when Johns Hopkins students serve as volunteers in Johns Hopkins clinical research. These concerns relate primarily to the risks of possible undue pressure to enroll and potential loss of confidentiality. It is the policy of the Organization that recruitment of Students must conform to the Johns Hopkins University “Policy Governing Recruitment and Enrollment of Students in Research Involving Human Subjects” and must be approved by the JHM IRB.
The Organization allows submission of requests for individual exceptions for studies where there may be therapeutic benefit but greater than minimal risk. Such exceptions are to be reviewed by the IRB. The Organization allows the IRBs to grant individual exceptions.
