Organization Policy on Support for the Human Research Protection Program

It is the policy of the Organization to provide financial and non-financial support for the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP).  Types of support provided shall include sufficient equipment, electronic systems and technical support to facilitate IRB review functions, staff to support IRB functions, , legal and monitoring expertise, and establishment of a sufficient number of IRBs with appropriate expertise to efficiently review human research applications.

Annually, at the time of the yearly budgeting process, an evaluation of the resources needed to support the HRPP will be conducted by the Vice Dean for Clinical Investigation, Associate Dean for Human Research Protections and the OHSR Director of Operations utilizing feedback from annual HRPP retreats, the IRB member evaluations and regular meetings with the IRB Chairs and senior leadership of the HRPP.
