There are six JHM IRBs covered by the Federal Wide Assurances (FWAs) the Institutions have on file with OHRP. Five IRBs are on the East Baltimore campus, one IRB is on the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center campus.

JHM IRB Meeting Schedule

The Vice Dean for Clinical Investigation is the Institutional Official with the authority to appoint members of the JHM IRBs. Members are appointed to meet DHHS and FDA regulatory requirements for IRB membership.

The IRBs operate in compliance with the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Title 45 Part 46 entitled "Protection of Human Subjects" as well as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations Title 21 Part 50 entitled "Protection of Human Subjects."
