The Johns Hopkins Center for Innovation in Quality Patient Care was created in 2002 to facilitate patient-centered revamping of healthcare delivery systems and institute innovative care delivery models at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Supporting a grass roots model of improvement, the Center helps coordinate the efforts of interdisciplinary teams of physicians, nurses and managers throughout the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions to gather data, evaluate changes, and recommend and implement best practices. In addition to supporting Johns Hopkins' patient safety efforts, the Center has worked with various hospitals in the U.S. and internationally.
