Young Clinician/Investigator Fund

The Division is committed to training the next generation of infectious disease specialists in the areas of treatment and research. Clinical and basic science research in infectious diseases is a major focus of the division's training program. Residents and fellows have the opportunity to conduct basic and clinical research with some of the leading infectious disease investigators in the world. They also have the opportunity to travel abroad to conduct research and treat patients suffering from infectious diseases.

Examples of infectious disease trainee research tracks include:

  • Antibiotic resistance
  • Basic microbiology
  • Clinical trials
  • Health care epidemiology and infection prevention
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Immunology
  • Staphylococcal and major invasive infections
  • Tuberculosis and mycobacterial infections
  • Transplant infectious diseases and fungal infections
  • Viral Hepatitis

The Fellowship Endowment is designed to promote the research activities or clinical training of outstanding young infectious disease trainees pursuing careers in academic research.
