  Neuroscience 

Neuroscience faculty focus on four main areas:

  • molecular, cellular, and developmental neurobiology
  • systems neuroscience
  • cognitive neuroscience
  • neurobiology of disease

Many of our faculty have joint appointments in other departments. Specific research topics include the mechanisms of learning and memory, neurotransmitters and growth factors, the visual system, synaptic plasticity, behavioral biology, neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders, adult neural stem cells, vestibular system function, motor control and neuronal death, survival and regeneration. Faculty participate in the Neuroscience training program.
