Labor Management Committee (LMC)

Dear Colleagues –

The new Labor Management Committee (LMC), formed by 1199SEIU and The Johns Hopkins Hospital formed of union members, managers and leaders. This committee is created under our new Collective Bargaining Agreement and has been meeting to help address operational issues as they arise between contract negotiations.

Some updates to share with staff:

  • The Grievance process   was addressed to make it more streamlined.
  • Starting Jan. 2, 2014, if you’re seeking an appointment as a new patient for specialty care, you can call a dedicated line, 1-866-206-7210, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This line is for EHP members of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System Corporation.
  • All  new union job postings are sent to the Union office twice a week and are also online
  • Phipps 3rd floor houses the Employee Health and Wellness Clinic from 8am-5pm.  For non-emergency care, this is where employees should be seen instead of the Emergency Department. We are working on getting evening coverage and will keep you posted.

The LMC are meeting monthly and decisions are made collaboratively within the committee. Information from these meetings are distributed.

Thank you,

Armeta Dixon
Vice President, Baltimore Hospitals and Health Systems
1199SEIU, United Healthcare Workers East

and

Bonnie Windsor
Vice President of Human Resources, Johns Hopkins Hospital
