In order to meet some of the Wellness needs of the faculty and staff, a limited
array of Wellness activities are offered through the office of Occupational
Health Services. The full array of Wellness activities is presently offered at
the Homewood campus. Activities are not available at remote campuses, unless
specified. Faculty and staff able to participate in these Wellness activities
are those who are eligible for health care benefits through the University.

The Department of Occupational Health Services provides immediate treatment for
all work related injuries and illness. We provide referrals to specialists within
the Johns Hopkins Institutions and effective case management for injury
prevention and control.
If you are injured at work, please notify your supervisor immediately and contact
the Department of Occupational Health Services at 410.516.0450.
If an injury should occur on a night shift or weekend, please seek the appropriate
medical treatment and follow-up with the Department of Occupational Health
Services the next business day.

The CPR classes are taught by certified instructors. The classes are
informative; covering topics such as prevention, risk factors and of course CPR.
Each participant will leave the class with an American Heart Association card
which is good for two (2) years.
Training is also provided on the use of the Automatic External Defibrillators
which have been placed around the Homewood campus.

The instructor concentrates on toning and conditioning by beginning with a warm up. Exercise
using hand weights focuses on strengthening the upper body. The floor work which follows
emphasizes strengthening the abdomen and legs. A cool down ends the session.

Yoga is a series of body positions and movements designed to calm the mind, relax the body, ease the spirit
and to unite these three aspects. In addition to providing exercise and relaxation, Yoga is believed to help
participants change their mental and physical responses.
These classes are a combination of two types of Yoga, Iyengar and Kripalu which focus primarily on improving
awareness of mind, body and spirit.

From NORTH:
Take 83S towards Baltimore City. Take 28th Street exit. Proceed on 28th Street to Howard
Street. Turn left onto Howard and continue through one traffic light. Get into the left lane and turn left onto
Wyman Park Drive. The center is on the left.
From SOUTH:
Get onto 295 North and proceed towards Baltimore City. After the first two traffic lights on Russell Street and
adjacent to the stadium, there will be a right hand turn-off for Martin Luther King Blvd. Turn right and stay
in the left lane. The on-ramp will circle around (passing Camden Yards) and take you onto MLK Boulevard. Proceed
on MLK Boulevard to Howard Street. Turn left onto Howard. After the 29th Street intersection, get into the left
lane and turn left at Wyman Park Drive. The center is on the left.
