The goal of Health, Safety & Environment is to promote the health and productivity of employees of the Johns Hopkins Institutions by the prevention and management of occupational and environmental injuries, illnesses and disabilities.

Assess compliance with all applicable health, safety and environmental laws, measure performance in preventing employee, and visitor injuries and treating occupational conditions. If performance decrements exist in any activity, facilitate the correction of deficiencies. Analyze trends in safety performance and report observations to the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins University Boards of Directors (quarterly and annually).
