Breast Reduction Surgery

Many women and men with large breasts decide to have surgery to reduce the size of their breasts if they experience pain, discomfort, skin rashes or simply wish to have smaller breasts. Several board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeons at Howard County General Hospital perform breast reduction surgery.

Breast reduction surgery is typically an outpatient procedure performed at the Berman Pavilion (building 2 on the campus map) adjacent to the hospital. To learn more about the procedure, schedule a consultation with one of our specialists.

Is breast reduction surgery covered by insurance?

Breast reduction surgery will usually be covered by a patient’s insurance if the patient has demonstrated and documented a history of problems associated with their large breasts.
