Prepare for your Mammogram

Please follow the American Cancer Society’s preparation recommendation for a mammogram examination:

• Do not wear deodorant, talcum powder or lotion under your arms or on your breasts on the day of your mammogram.
• If possible, obtain prior mammograms and make them available to the radiologist at the time of the current exam.
• Make sure you bring your doctor's written order for the mammogram study.
• Describe any breast symptoms or problems to the technologist performing the exam.

Mammograms are performed in the Health Care and Surgery Center, adjacent to the hospital.
