Local Executive Earns Top Healthcare Management Credential
Columbia, MD – Judy E. Brown, MAS, RN, CNAA-BC, FACHE, senior vice president of Patient Care Services at Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders.
Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. In fact, only 5,400 healthcare executives hold this distinction. To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional/community involvement. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.
Brown has served at Howard County General Hospital for more than 20 years, the last 10 as Senior Vice President of Patient Services. Recently, she assumed responsibility for patient safety, performance improvement and risk management in a new senior vice president role. She holds a diploma in nursing from Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Penn State University, a master’s degree in administrative science from Johns Hopkins University and will finish a master’s degree in nursing at Johns Hopkins University in May 2007.
