COLUMBIA, Md.—As Howard County General Hospital prepares to renovate its emergency room, parking spaces directly outside the ER entrance will be temporarily unavailable starting in mid-August. Other campus parking will be available.

The hospital is asking ER patients and families to follow signs directing them to alternate parking when entering the campus. Complimentary valet parking will be provided for emergency room patients at the ER entrance from mid-August through October 2017.

The temporary change is part of Howard County General Hospital’s expected campus construction project building a two-story addition to the hospital and renovating existing space. The addition and renovation will meet growing community needs for emergency care, general medical and surgical care and behavioral health services.
