Meetings and Conferences

Residents are required to attend a variety of meetings and conferences throughout their residency year, including but not limited to departmental meetings, select committee meetings, administrative and professional meetings.

Departmental meeting
The Pharmacy Department holds a monthly departmental meeting, which serves to keep all department employees informed of upcoming changes or improvements in the department.

Committee meetings
Residents must attend at least two Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings as well as committee meetings related to medication safety.

Administrative meetings
This biweekly meeting serves as an administrative longitudinal experience where residents will discuss management topics. This meeting also is an opportunity to broaden the residents’ knowledge of professional issues.

Professional meetings

ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
Residents are required to attend the American Society for Health System Pharmacists Midyear Clinical Meeting where they will participate in the poster presentation session and assist in residency recruitment during the residency showcase.

Eastern States Residency Conference
The spring conference gives residents the opportunity to formally present their year-long research project to other resident colleagues and attendees from other health care systems.

Other professional meetings
Attendance at other professional meetings must be approved by the residency director.
