Pharmacy Residency Overview

Howard County General Hospital recognizes the value of pharmacy residency training for individuals seeking a career in community hospitals. The pharmacy residency program was initiated in 2012 and offers a variety of opportunities in various areas of pharmacy practice.

Clinical services provided by Pharmacy include:

  • kinetic monitoring
  • parenteral nutrition support
  • renal drug monitoring
  • drug information
  • intravenous to oral medication conversion
  • inpatient and outpatient anticoagulation monitoring and education
  • multidisciplinary rounding
  • inpatient warfarin dosing
  • warfarin education
  • outpatient anticoagulation monitoring
