The
Assistant Director of clinical testing and administration is Mr. John M.
Hart. Mr. Hart has a Master's of Business Administration degree from
the Johns Hopkins University, is certified as a Histocompatibility
Specialist by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics,
and successfully completed the SEOPF Histocompatibility Specialist Course.
Mr. Hart has 19 years of experience in histocompatibility testing.
He is a member of ASHI and serves on its Accreditation Review Board as a
Co-Chair. Mr. Hart is a co-author of multiple papers in
transplantation and histocompatibility testing; has presented scientific
papers at ASHI meetings; has conducted workshops for ASHI, SEOPF, and One
Lambda; and is a past co-chair of the Education Subcommittee for the ASHI
Annual Scientific Meeting. Mr. Hart has participated in four
International Workshops in Histocompatibility Testing; regularly attends
the ASHI Annual Scientific Meeting; attends UNOS Region 2 meetings, The
TRC Clinical Affairs Committee meetings, and local coordinators meetings.
In 1996, Mr. Hart was recognized by the TRC for his contributions to the
mission of the TRC and to organ donation in the community. Mr. Hart
administrative functions include cost accounting, prepares laboratory
budgets and budget projections, completes the annual Medicare cost report,
prepares budgets for grants and contracts, and oversees laboratory
finances. In addition he serves as liaison between the laboratory and
University/Hospital Administration. Mr. Hart's is the primary contact
person for the IMMUNOGENETICS LABORATORY, the JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY.
