History of Global Heath and Disease The Johns Hopkins Institute of the History of Medicine Research Themes: During 2008-2009 the Center will continue to collaborate with the Departments of Health, Behavior and Society; International Health; Anthropology; and History is running a interdisciplinary seminar on Critical Global Health Studies. Courses in the History of Global Health and Disease are offered within the program in the History of Science, Medicine and Technology, which is jointly run by the History of Medicine, and the History of Science and Technology Departments. These include: History of Public Health History of Epidemiology I History of Epidemiology II History of International Health and Development Health, Risk and History History of Colonial and Postcolonial Medicine, Science and Technology Comparative History of Disease Control History of Modern Medicine History of Health and Development in Africa History of Public Health in China Invention of Tropical Disease
Students interested in focusing on the History of Global Health and Disease are also encouraged to take courses in the School of Public Health and the department of Anthropology.
