Hannah postdoctoral fellow in the Institute for the History of Medicine. Health in American cultural consciousness. 20th century American understandings of health, disease, and the medical profession and the influences on these attitudes. The place of the golden age of medicine narrative in medical history, medical-professional identity, and health policy debates. Quantitative and qualitative methods in historical research. The role of founders' myths in disciplinary identity. Health and environment, particularly American and Cuban perceptions of Cuba as a healthy and harmful place in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
