Patient Information

Your first visit

Your initial visit to Anticoagulation Management Clinic usually takes about one hour.  We will tell you if you need blood tests completed before your visit.

During your visit we will:

  • Ask you detailed questions about your general health, previous surgeries and medications
  • Discuss facts about the clinic, how to contact us, how often you will attend the clinic and how long you will be on anticoagulants
  • Provide you with a handout about anticoagulation therapy
  • Dispel any myths you may have heard about warfarin/Coumadin®

What to bring:

It’s very important that you bring all of your medications in their original bottles. This includes vitamins and supplements. Your first visit is a great opportunity to ask plenty of questions, so feel free to bring a list.
